Have you ever wondered how some works of art are chosen for Phoenix Art Museum’s contemporary collection?  Better yet, would you like to participate in choosing another dynamic acquisition for the Museum’s collection?  Then join with your fellow art lovers at Contemporary Forum’s annual ArtPick and help select from five engaging artworks chosen by Phoenix Art Museum’s Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art which will be on display during the event.

At an exciting party with a hearty buffet, hosted bar and an irresistible silent auction, attendees become curators for the evening, viewing the selected works by leading contemporary artists and voting for their favorite work of art. Suspense builds at this festive, informal event and the evening culminates with the announcement of this year’s winning work of art. The piece receiving the highest number of votes is then purchased by Contemporary Forum for the Museum’s permanent collection with funds raised at the event.

See below to view previous ArtPick winning selections.

One of the extraordinary results of ArtPick is that many private donors have often purchased their favorite curatorial choices and then donated these pieces to the Museum. This is possible because all of the curatorial choices are regarded as worthy of admission to the permanent collection.

While the following works were not the ArtPick winning selections, they subsequently were acquired as a direct result of ArtPick events.
